Analytes and Applications: DNA, RNA, proteins
The Oxford Nanopore technology platform is designed so that the nanopore element can be adapted for the analysis of a variety of target analytes. The techniques for adapting nanopores to these analytes are outlined in the pages describing including DNA, RNA and protein analysis.
All of these techniques are compatible with the GridION system or the miniaturised MinION, and of course compatible with the analysis of any species including plant, animal or small organisms.
Several scientific applications are possible for each analyte type; for example when sequencing DNA, the technology may be used for applications including resequencing, de novo sequencing, epigenetics and much more.
