Working for Oxford Nanopore

Oxford Nanopore is developing a nanopore-powered molecular detection system that has the potential to provide substantial benefits to society. These benefits include: the acceleration of the development of new personalised medicines, improving the diagnosis of disease, and providing protection against security threats. The science behind this technology represents more than 15 years of research from the world's most prestigious universities.

The development of Oxford Nanopore's technology platform requires the expertise of scientists and engineers across a range of disciplines. Our team includes specialists in chemistry, molecular biology, electrophysiology, fluidics and materials engineering, design and manufacturing engineering, electronic systems engineering, software development, statistics and bioinformatics.

Individual technical excellence and teamworking are therefore a priority for the Company. We are seeking candidates who can contribute the highest level of technical expertise and integrate the science from other disciplines into their work. We employ agile methods of working, not only for our software development but across our system - you can read more agile methods here.  This means that we seek candidates who are dynamic and have excellent communication skills, embrace a fast-faced working environment and are responsive to change.

From July 2011, our Oxford-based laboratories are augmented by a Cambridge office that focuses mainly on informatics and software development.
